e standard for plein air sketching or painting is that at least 80 - 90% of the work is done in the field.   Even though an artist may return to the same site on numerous days, purists demand that a plein air painting cannot be done in the studio.  Although many of my paintings start as plein air works, I have included here only those that meet this standard.  (New works from my recent trip to Italy are not yet catalogued or titled.)
